General Conditions for Rental Vehicles
ALL rates quoted are in NZ currency and include:

- GST (Tax)
Confirmation of Rental Booking
Confirmation and supply is guaranteed upon receiving details of a valid credit card, at which time a voucher will be issued for the vehicle booking.
Rental Booking Payment
Payment of the hire vehicle is to be made at the commencement of the hire. Payment can be made via Visa, MasterCard, New Zealand cheques (with ID) or cash.
Driver Requirements
All drivers must produce a full New Zealand driver licence or an internationally recognised driver licence at the commencement of hire.
Insurance
The hire vehicle includes comprehensive insurance incorporating an insurance excess liability of $2250 including GST (tax), for drivers aged 21-25 years excess liability is $2812.50 including GST (tax) and for drivers aged under 21 years the excess is $3375.00 including GST (tax). Windscreen excess is nil. This liability is the hirers/drivers maximum responsibility in case of any damage to the vehicle, we suggest you run through the insurance policy with us before commencement of hire.
Insurance Waiver
Your standard insurance excess can be reduced to $250.00 (Drivers 25yrs & over), $1000.00 (Drivers 21yrs - 25yrs) $1500.00 (Drivers 21yrs & under) simply by paying an additional $18.00 per day. Your standard insurance excess can be reduced to $0.00 (Drivers 25yrs & over only) simply by paying an additional $25.00 per day.
Bond
Up to the amount of the insurance/excess liability, is held in the form of a credit card voucher/imprint or cash, until the car is returned. A refund is payable once the vehicle is cleaned (if necessary) and inspected for any damage or loss.
Cancellations, No Shows & Refunds
If a confirmed booking is cancelled between 7 to 1 day prior to commencement of hire a cancellation fee will be charged to the credit card details supplied at time of booking. The cancellation fee is 10% of the total hire fee or the cost of a one day hire fee (whichever is the greater).
If a confirmed booking is cancelled on the day of pick-up the amount payable will be at the owners discretion to a maximum of 100% of the total amount of the original hire quoted.
If it is a "NO SHOW" the total amount quoted for the hire will be charged to the credit card supplied at the time of booking.
Refunds
No refunds will be given if the car is returned prior to the original drop-off day.
Hire Period
All hires are calculated on a 24hr basis from time of pick-up. Lateness:
within 1hr - no charge. Between 1-2hrs 1/3 of daily rate. Between 2-3hrs 2/3 of daily rate. Over 3hrs full daily rates apply.
One-Way Rentals
One way rentals are available by prior arrangement and quote.
Long-Term Rentals
Long term rental rates are available by request.
Right To Up-Grade
DUNEDIN CAR HIRE - Will endeavor to supply the vehicle quoted at the time of reservation, but reserves the right to up-grade models at NO EXTRA COST.
Airport Pick-Up and/or Drop-Off
We have a counter and car parking at the Dunedin Airport for pick up and drop off. At the time of requesting a quote or making a booking, please advise of flight arrival details and number of pax.
Hotel/Accommodation Pick-up and/or Drop-Off
We are happy to deliver to or pick-up from your Hotel/Accommodation. Please request this on your Booking Form.
Vehicle Accessory Hire
Customers have the option of hiring additional accessories, including baby seats, child booster seats, ski racks and snow chains.
All Rentals
Are subject to the Terms and Conditions incorporated in the rental agreement.
