taieri gorge train ride

Operating daily (except Christmas Day) from the historic Railway Station, the Taieri Gorge Limited train is considered Dunedin's most prestige tourist train and is one of the most popular attractions in the region.

Take a journey through the rugged and spectacular Taieri River Gorge as you cross wrought iron viaducts and meander through tunnels carved by hand more than 100 years ago. Train travellers can enjoy full commentary, photographic stops and on board refreshments.
